Workflow - Deleting Media in Bulk

You can configure a workflow for deleting spare or retired media in bulk from the CommServe database.

Before You Begin

Create a .txt file containing the list of barcodes associated with the media that must be deleted. The format of the .txt file must be one barcode per line.

Procedure

1. Download the Delete Media From List workflow from cloud.commvault.com.

2. Import the workflow.

   For more information on importing a workflow, see Workflow Operations - Import a Workflow.

3. Deploy the workflow from the CommCell Browser.

   For more information, see Deploying a Workflow.

4. From the CommCell Browser, go to Workflows.

5. Right-click Delete Media From List, and click All Task > Execute to run the workflow.

   The Delete Media From List Options dialog box appears.

6. From the Run workflow on list, select the CommServe on which you want to run the workflow.

7. Create a .txt file that contains the barcodes in the Base\Temp folder on the CommServe computer.

8. In the Input File box, enter the name of the .txt file.

9. Click OK to run the workflow.

   You can view the progress of Delete Media from List job from the Job Controller.

Results

When the workflow is complete, the administrator receives an email on the workflow results.
