You can create a network topology instance in which members of one server group can connect to members of another server group.
Use this configuration on environments in which one or more server computers, such as the CommServe computer or a MediaAgent, initiate connections to the client.
Before You Begin
Verify that the server groups that you want to use in the network topology instance are already defined in the CommCell Console or the Command Center.
You must have Administrative Management permissions on the server groups that you plan to use in the network topology instance.
The server group that you select as the network gateway must be able to open connections to the servers on the tunnel port.
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Network > Network Topologies.
The Network topologies page appears.
Click Add topology.
The Add topology dialog box appears.
In the Name field, enter a name for this instance of a one-way direct connection.
For Client type, select Servers.
From the Topology type list, select One-way.
From the Servers list, select the server group to initiate connections with members of the Network gateways server group.
From the Network gateways list, select the server group to receive connection requests from members of the Servers server group.
To modify advanced settings, move the Advanced toggle key to the right, and then do the following:
To modify the tunnel port (Default is 8403), click the edit button , and then enter the port number to use.
To modify the keep-alive interval, click the edit button , and then enter the number of seconds.
The keep-alive interval is the interval (in seconds) for sending keep-alive packets, to maintain the session if backup traffic has an extended pause.
To avoid idle session timeouts on cloud-based clients, enter 200 or less.
Specify whether to encrypt network traffic (HTTPS):
If you want to encrypt network traffic, move the Encrypt traffic toggle key to the right.
If you do not want to encrypt network traffic, do the following:
From the Tunnel protocol list, select Encrypted, Authenticated, Regular, or Raw.
From the Parallel data transfer streams for long distance networks, select the number of streams to use.
The default value is 1. The maximum value is 8.
