Installing the Block-Level Replication Package

Install the block-level package to start replicating data from the source server to the destination server.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that the computer where you plan to install the package satisfies the minimum requirements specified in System Requirements.

  • Install the Commvault Package

    If your backup administrator has not already installed the Commvault package, then you must install it. For more information, see Installing the Commvault Package.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

    The Servers page appears.

  2. In the Actions column for the server, click the action button , and then click Add software.

    The Add software dialog box appears.

  3. From the Select package(s) list, select Block Level Replication.

  4. To allow the servers to reboot during installation, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.

    If you choose to not turn on the Reboot if required toggle key at this time, you must manually reboot the client computer later to load the BLR ( Block Level Replication) driver.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Install.

  7. Optional: Click on the link to view the progress of the installation job.

  8. Click OK.

  9. To view servers that have the Block Level Replication package installed, from the Type list available in the Servers page, select All.
