Backing Up Files on a Virtual Machine in the ServiceNow Commvault Application

You can back up files on a virtual machine in the ServiceNow Commvault application.

Procedure

  1. From the ServiceNow navigation pane, go to Clients.

    The client list includes physical computers and virtual machines that have Commvault software installed.

  2. To back up VMs that have Commvault software installed, complete the following steps:

    1. In the Actions column, click the button for a virtual machine, and then select Backup.

      The Backup client dialog box appears.

    2. Select Virtual Server, a backup set, and a subclient.

    3. Click Backup.

  3. To back up VMs that do not have Commvault software installed, complete the following steps:

    1. To display virtual machines that do not have Commvault packages installed, select the Include VM check box.

    2. In the Actions column, click the button for a virtual machine, and then select Backup VM.
