To migrate a SQL database application to an Azure Resource Manager instance, complete the following steps:
Step 1: Install Workflow Engine Package
Configure Workflow Engine package on any of the client. For more information on installing a package, see Installing the Commvault Package.
Step 2: Create an Azure Account
Create an Azure account that contains Azure Virtual Machine Image. For more information, see Configuring the Azure Resource Manager Instance.
Step 3: Configure the Source Client
Complete the following tasks for the source SQL client:
Add the source client to the Command Center..
Run a full backup of the SQL database. For more information, see SQL Backup Operations.
Step 4: Create an Azure Virtual Client
Complete the following tasks:
Add a new virtual client for the Azure hypervisor. For more information, see Adding an Azure Hypervisor.
When you add a new virtual client, a corresponding virtual client group is created automatically.
Ensure that you have installed a proxy client in the Azure cloud, and then set up and synchronize a remote cache on the client computer. For more information, see Setting Up a Remote Cache on a Client Computer.
Configure the firewall settings for application migration. For more information about configuring the firewall settings, see Application Migration Firewall.
Step 5: Create a Recovery Target for Azure
Create a recovery target for Azure Resource Manager. For more information, see Creating a Recovery Target for Azure.
Note: You can migrate only Azure user created images (templates) to the cloud.
Step 6: Migrate the SQL Database
Migrate the SQL databases to an Azure Resource Manager instance. For more information, see Performing SQL Database Application Migration.
