Creating a Table Group for a Set of DynamoDB Tables

Create table groups for sets of tables that have similar backup requirements. Table groups that belong to the same database instance can have different backup schedules.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The Instances page appears.

  2. From the View list, select the DynamoDB database instance to create a table group for.

    Tip: To quickly find the instance, from the View list, select DynamoDB.

    The database instance page appears.

  3. On the right side of the page, click Create table group.

    The Create Table Group dialog box appears.

  4. In the Name box, type a name for the table group.

  5. Decide whether to use a server plan or to choose a specific storage policy and schedule:

    1. To use a server plan, complete the following steps:

      1. Under Backup Configuration, move the Use backup plan toggle key to the right.

      2. From the Plan list, select a server plan.

    2. To choose a specific storage policy and schedule policy, complete the following steps

      1. Under Backup Configuration, move the Use backup plan toggle key to the left.

      2. From the Storage policy list, select a storage policy.

      3. From the Schedule policy list, select a schedule policy.

  6. In the Number of data streams box, type of the number of streams to use for backups.

  7. To change the read capacity throughput, click Edit beside the Adjust Read Capacity box, and then type the number of units.

  8. Under Backup content, select the tables to include in the table group.

  9. Click Save.
