Creating an Export Set in Case Manager

You can create an export set in Case Manager. Export sets are useful for preparing data or converting data to a uniform format.

Export sets created by the user have infinite retention and are not pruned unless they are manually deleted by the user

You can export data in the following file formats:

  • PST (Portable Storage Table)

    You can export email data from a case in the portable storage table (PST) format. PST files have an inherent size limit. You must ensure the size of each export set is below the PST size limit, or consider selecting the CAB export option.

  • CAB (Cabinet File)

    You can export files, emails, or a combination of both from Search in the cabinet file (CAB) format.


  1. From the navigation pane, go to Data Insights.

    The Data Insights page appears.

  2. Click Case manager.

    The Case manager page appears.

  3. Click the case.

    The case page appears.

  4. On the Search tab, search for the data to export.

  5. Click Export to, and then select the file format.

    The Export dialog box appears.

  6. In the Name box, enter a name for the export.

  7. For Selection Range, specify the data to export:

    • To export only the data that is selected, select Selected.

    • To export all the data that is returned by the search, select All.

  8. Click Submit.
