Configuring Email Notifications (Fully Managed Deployments)


Configure an email address for the platform administrator to receive notifications for the Commvault deployment.

Alternatively, you can forward alerts from the Commvault system to your centralized Event Management system using SYSLOG or SNMP.

By default, Commvault notifies the administrator of critical and anomalous events. At a minimum, the platform administrator should receive notifications for any critical events that require attention.


To provide email server information for Commvault alert delivery, perform the following:

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Guided setup.

  2. On the right side, click Configure email.

  3. Supply the SMTP server, port, and authentication details for your company (if required for your organization).

  4. Click Test email and confirm that you received the test email.

    The test email status appears at the top of the window.

  5. Click Save.
