Active Directory and CommServer Cross-Domain Authentication

You can control whether authentication occurs first on the Active Directory domain or the CommServe server domain by using the nLdapBindWithDomainFirst additional setting.

When a company user logs on to a Commvault service account that belongs to a CommCell environment in which the CommServer and Active Directory servers belong to different domains, then the authentication occurs first on the CommServe server domain.

If you want the Active Directory authentication to occur first, then add the nLdapBindWithDomainFirst additional setting.

Procedure

1. To the CommServer computer, add the nLdapBindWithDomainFirst additional setting as shown in the following table.
