Changing the NFS Cache Path From the CommCell Console

You can configure or change an existing cache path for the Hybrid File Store server. Before you change the data cache path, you must verify that all your data is backed up.

Before You Begin

  • Stop copying data to the Hybrid File Store.

  • From the Job Controller, check whether any 3DFS jobs are in progress and wait for them to complete.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > client.

  2. Right-click the client, and then go to All Tasks > Status.

    The Status dialog box appears.

  3. On the Object Store Details tab, verify that the value of Uncommitted extents is 0.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Stop Commvault services on the Hybrid File Store server.

  6. From the CommCell Browser, expand Storage Resources > MediaAgents.

  7. Right-click the MediaAgent, and then click Properties.

    The MediaAgent Properties dialog box appears.

  8. On the File Server tab, in the Cache Directory box, enter the full path to the new cache directory.

  9. Click OK.

  10. Copy all data from the old cache directory to the new cache directory.

  11. Start Commvault services on the Hybrid File Store server.
