To browse or search from the Commvault End-User Command Line Interface (cvc) as a non-root user, set the necessary ACLs for the child and the parent (and higher-level ancestors) directories. Then, enable backup of end-user ACLs, see Enabling End-User ACLs to Browse From the Commvault Command Line Interface (cvc) on Linux.
