Creating a Cosmos DB Instance Using an Existing Azure Cloud Account

Create a database instance for Azure Cosmos DB using an existing Azure cloud account.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The Instances page appears.

  2. Click Add Instance, and then click Cloud DB.

    The Add Cloud DB instance page appears.

  3. From the Select vendor list, select Microsoft Azure.

  4. From the Database service list, select Cosmos DB.

  5. From the Cloud account list, select a cloud account name.

  6. If the selected cloud account uses an access node that includes only the VSA package, then in the Access node list, select an access node that has both the VSA and cloud apps packages installed.

  7. From the Backup Plan list, select the server plan that you want to use for the backup operations.

  8. Optional: To filter the content that is backed up, click Edit, and then select or clear the databases or containers that you want to include or exclude in the backups.

  9. Click Add.

Result

The Cosmos DB database instance and a default container group for the instance are created.
