Replication Group Configuration Tool

Updated

The replication group configuration tool provides a quick configuration method that includes only the values that are required to enable periodic or continuous replication.

A replication group is a set of virtual machines that can be replicated to a recovery target (also called a destination site or a secondary site). The replication group identifies source VMs and specifies how they are replicated to the destination site.

There are two types of replication methods:

  • Periodic: Frequently updates from source VMs to the destination site and requires less bandwidth than the continuous method.

  • Continuous (VMware only): Continuously streams updates from source VMs to the destination site so that the destination site is always current.
