You can configure Copy Data Management using Commvault Distributed Storage.
Before You Begin
Verify that the Commvault Distributed Storage version is 4.2.2 or a more recent version.
Procedure
Create a server plan for Copy Data Management using the Distributed Storage as the target.
When you add the backup destination for the server plan, from the Storage list, select the Distributed Storage cluster, and move the Optimize for instant clone toggle key to the right.
Assign the server plan to the database servers or the database instances that you want to use Copy Data Management for.
Results
Data and log backups run according to the server plan. Data backups are stored in native application format on an iSCSI vdisk that is automatically provisioned during the backup job. The lifecycle of the iSCSI vdisk is automatically managed by the software. Log backups are stored as streaming backups on the Distributed Storage disk library.
What To Do Next
Configure the vdisk aging settings. For more information, see Configuring Vdisk Aging Settings for the Life Cycle of Provisioned Storage Disks.
