After a successful failover, you can perform a failback operation to reestablish replication operations. During a failback operation, all changes to the destination VM are synced back to the source VM. If IP customization is applied during the failover operation, it is removed during the failback operation.
Note: When you initiate a failback operation, the vMotion will be disabled on the VM in the source/destination site and will be enabled back after the completion of job.
Procedure
From the navigation pane, go to Auto recovery > Recovery Monitor.
The Recovery Monitor page appears.
On the Continuous tab, in the row for the replication pair that you want to fail back, click the action button
, and then select Failback.
Results
After the failback job completes, the following events occur:
The source VM is turned on again and a resync operation runs to reestablish replication operations.
On the Continuous Recovery Monitor, the Synchronization status displays Re-syncing.
Replication operations resume on the source VM.
