Adding an Additional Subclient for MEDITECH

When you add the file server using the guided setup, the content you specify is included in the default subclient that is automatically created. You can add additional subclients for content that has different backup requirements.

When you configure a subclient, specify the content by providing the connection details to the MEDITECH MBI listener.

Use one user-defined subclient for all MEDITECH-dependent systems.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

    The File servers page appears.

  2. Click the file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. Under Subclients, from the Backup sets list, select a backup set that you want to add the subclient to.

  4. Click Add subclient.

    The Add subclient dialog box appears.

  5. Enter the following information:

    1. Name: Enter a name for the subclient.

    2. Backup set: Select the backup set that you want to add the subclient to.

    3. Backup plan: Select the backup plan to use for the subclient, and then specify which content you want to back up.

    4. System name: Enter a unique name to identify the MEDITECH module that you want to back up, for example 'EMR'.

    5. Listener FQDN/IP: Enter the transaction listener IP address for the MEDITECH module host.

    6. Listener port: Enter the port that you use to access the MEDITECH MBI listener.

      The default listener port is 2987.

    7. User name and Password: Enter the MEDITECH MBF credentials.

    8. MBF timeout: Enter the timeout value (in seconds).

      The default timeout value is 90 seconds.

  6. In the Snapshot management area, from the Engines list, select a snapshot engine.

  7. In the Backup process settings area, enter the following information:

    • Pre-backup process: Enter the path to the batch file.

    • Post-backup process: Enter the path to the batch file.

  8. Click OK.
