Restoring a MEDITECH File Server to a Different Location (Out of Place)

Updated

On this page

You can restore a MEDITECH module to a different MEDITECH file server (out of place). You can browse and select a volume to restore from a backup copy on a tape or disk media.

The destination volume must be at least as large as the volume from which the data was backed up regardless of the amount of data that is actually restored.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

    The File servers page appears.

  2. Click the file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. Under Subclients, in the row for the subclient that you want to restore, click the action button , and then click Restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  4. Select the volume or drive that you want to restore.

  5. To restore from a specific copy of backup data, in the upper-right corner of the page, from the Restore from default copy list, select the copy.

If you select Restore from default copy (default), the restore operation searches for the requested data in the primary copy, and automatically selects a different copy if the data is not found in the primary copy.

  6. Click Restore.

The Restore options dialog box appears.

  7. From the Destination client list, select the destination to restore the data to.

  8. Clear the Restore to original folder check box, and then in the Destination path box, type the full path to the destination folder.

  9. Click Submit.
