Deploying HyperScale X Reference Architecture with Redundant Networking (Recommended)

Updated

HyperScale X Reference Architecture can be setup with bonded interfaces using 4 10GigE ports per node as follows:

  • 2 bonded ports for Data Protection network

  • 2 bonded ports for internal/private Storage Pool network

Recommended: Deploying HyperScale X Reference Architecture with redundant networking is the recommended method for setting up the nodes.

Procedure

Deploying the nodes with redundant networking consists of the following steps:

Step 1: Setup the HyperScale X Reference Architecture Software

Download and setup the HyperScale X Reference Architecture software.

Setting Up the Installation Media

Step 2: Configure the bonded network

Setup up a bonded network by assigning IP addresses to the bonded interfaces in the nodes.

Step 3: Configure the block

A block consisting of 3 nodes must be setup to ensure that the correct nodes are identified and configured when the setup is run.

Configuring the Block

Step 4: Setup the nodes with Active-Backup bonding

Install and configure the nodes with active backup bonding.
