Installing the Documentation Package on Different Ports

Updated

If the default ports used by the offline documentation services are not available on your computer, you can install the offline documentation package to run on different ports.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. Open a command prompt as an administrator.

  2. Go to the location where you extracted the contents of the offline package.

  3. Enter the following command:

install.bat /SearchPort:<port used by the website and search service> /SearchStopPort:<port used by search service>

To install using the default ports, the command would be as follows:

    install.bat /SearchPort:21000 /SearchStopPort:21010
  4. If prompted, click Yes to allow the script to install the offline documentation services.

After the services are installed, your default browser opens to the offline documentation site on the port specified in the command, http://localhost:<AppPort>/essential/index.html.
