Getting Started with Percona XtraBackup for MySQL

To get started using the MySQL XtraBackup utility, configure MySQL XtraBackup either for an instance or for a database group, and then back up and restore the instance or the database group.

Procedure

1. Configure the entity to use XtraBackup for:

   • Instance

   • Database group

     To use XtraBackup for a database group, you must first configure the instance to use XtraBackup.

2. Back up the instance or the database group.

3. Restore the instance or the database group.
