Modifying UNIX User Name for a PostgreSQL Instance

On this page

On a UNIX platform, the UNIX user name is set for an instance during a full backup of an FSbased backupset. The user name is of the operating system user that owns the PostgreSQL data, tablespaces and archive log directories. If you want to use the instance as a restore destination (without running any backup for the instance), you can modify the user name manually.

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The Instances page appears.

  2. Click an instance for which you want to delete archive logs after a backup operation.

    The instance page appears.

  3. On the Overview tab, click Edit.

The Edit PostgreSQL instance dialog box appears.

  4. Click Connection details.

  5. In the UNIX user name box, change the user name.

  6. Click Save.
