Configuring a Recovery Group for Big Data

Updated

On this page

You can create a recovery group to copy a big data file system from one location to a different location.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Auto recovery > Recovery groups.

    The Recovery groups page appears.

  2. In the upper-right area of the page, click Configure recovery group, and then click Big data.

The Configure recovery group - Big data page appears.

  3. On the Content tab, specify the data to replicate (the source):

    1. From the Server type list, select the type of the big data file system.

    2. From the Source client list, select the client.

    3. In the Name box, enter a name for the recovery group.

    4. From the Subclients list, select the subclients.

Note: Later, if you change the subclient content, then you must also update the recovery schedule.

      The Restore Content page appears.

    5. Select the share name, and then click Next.

  4. Click Next.

  5. On the Target tab, specify where to replicate the data to (the destination):

    1. From the Destination client list, select the computer.

    2. From the Copy Name list, select the copy from which you want to replicate the data.

If you select a storage policy copy from the Copy Name list, then the software replicates changes only when the source database backup is available on the storage policy copy or the secondary media. The backup is available on the media after the auxiliary job completes, so that is when the software attempts the replication.

    3. In the Number of streams box, enter the number of streams to use to retrieve the data.

    4. In the Schedule box, enter the schedule at which the replication operation must run after a backup operation completes.

By default, a replication operation runs immediately after a backup operation finishes.

    5. To replicate data to the same folder on the destination computer, select the Restore to original folder on destination check box.

    6. In the Destination path box, enter the path.

Note: The user account must have permissions to create files in the path, on the destination computer.

  6. To overwrite the data on the destination computer, click Advanced options, and then select the Unconditionally overwrite if it already exists check box.

  7. Click Submit.
