You can use the Ransomware Recovery application to restore Windows file system clients that suffered a ransomware attack.
You can restore multiple clients in a single restore operation. You can also verify that the data is valid for recovering. When you perform the restore operation, you specify whether to run the Virtualize Me restore job from valid copies, or run a data verification job before you run the Virtualize Me restore job.
Before You Begin
The Ransomware Recovery Application supports Virtualize Me only when the restore destination is VMware vCenter.
Log on to the Web Console, and then click Apps.
The Apps page appears.
Click Ransomware Recovery Application.
The Ransomware Recovery reports page appears.
In the upper-left area of the page, click Restore Time Range to select a time range of completed system state backup job and then, click Apply.
The Recoverable Clients lists the completed system state backup jobs within the selected time range.
In the Client column, select the clients that you want to restore.
To review the list of selected clients, select the Show Selected Rows check box.
You can perform a restore operation using any one of the following methods:
To verify that the data is valid before performing the restore operation, click Data Verification, and then click Virtualize Me Restore.
You can verify the data on multiple storage policies. For more information, see Validate Backups for Data Recovery.
To run the restore operation from valid copies of backed-up data, click Virtualize Me Restore.
Note: The Ransomware Recovery Application supports Virtualize Me only when the restore destination is VMware vCenter.
The restore operation takes place.
