Health Report: Database Index Fragmentation

This report lists the number of fragmented indexes in the CommServe, CVCloud, WFEngine databases, if available, and indicates the overall status of the database.

To diagnose and fix problems with these databases, you can use the DBMaintenance utility. For more information, see DBMaintenance Utility.

To view this report, in the Health Report, in the Database Index Fragmentation tile, click View Details .

Databases

This lists the number of operational indexes in the CommServe, CVCloud, and WFEngine databases, if available, and the status of the database.

Column

Description

Database

Name of the database.

Total Operational Indices

Total number of operational indexes in the database.

30% to 50% Fragmented Indices

Number of operational indexes in the database that are 30% to 60% fragmented. Click on the value in this column to view the Database - Name Report.

50% to 100% Fragmented Indices

Number of operational indexes in the database that are 60% to 100% fragmented. Click on the value in this column to view the Database - Name Report.

Status

Overall status of the database based on the number of fragmented databases. To view the parameters for the different status types, click on any value in the Status column.

Database - Name

This table lists the number of fragmented indexes in the CommServe, CVCloud, or WFEngine database, if available, and the status of the database. To view this table, in the Database table, click a value in the 30% to 50% Fragmented Indices or 50% to 100% Fragmented Indices column.

Name of the table.

Row Count

Number of rows in the table.

Index

Name of the index.

Index Type

Type of index.

Average Fragmentation Percent

Percentage of index that is fragmented.

Fill Factor

Percentage of space on each leaf-level page that can be filled with data when the index is created or rebuilt.

Page Count

Total number of index pages.

Fragment Count

Number of fragments in the leaf-level page.

Page Split

Cumulative number of leaf-level page allocations in the index.

Page Allocations by Page Split

Cumulative number of page allocations caused by page splits above the leaf level.
