Database administrators can back up and refresh databases from the SAP LaMa console for SAP HANA, SAP Oracle, and DB2 databases. After completion of the Commvault configuration and integration with SAP LaMa, backup or refresh actions performed by database administrators result in SAP LaMa automatically calling the Commvault software.
Prerequisites If Using DB2
If you are using a DB2 configuration it must have the following characteristics:
The database storage type must be Auto.
The database must be a DB2 non-partitioned database.
The database must have a single storage group.
Step 1: Install the Workflow Engine
For more information, see Installing the Workflow Engine.
Step 2: Install the Database Agent
Install the database agent for your database, if you haven't already done so. To support both backup and refresh operations, install the database agent on the source and destination clients. If you only need to support the backup operation you only need to install the database agent on the source client. For more information, see one of the following for your database type:
SAP HANA agent: For more information, see Getting Started for the SAP HANA Agent.
Oracle agent: For more information, see Getting Started with the SAP for Oracle Agent.
DB2 agent: For more information, see Getting Started for the DB2 Agent.
Step 3: Install the Commvault Files for SAP LaMa Integration
For more information, see Installing the Commvault Provision Files for SAP LaMa Integration.
Step 4: Create a Commvault User
Create a Commvault user with the permissions required to run backup and restore operations. For example, agent management and execute workflow permissions.
You will use this user account to log on and perform backup and restore operations from the command line interface.
Step 5: Perform the Commvault Configuration
Generate a token file that is named cv.token. Place the file in the log file location, for example, /var/log/commvault/Log_Files. On the command line, type the following command, where csname is the name of the CommServe computer.
qlogin –cs <csname> -f /var/log/commvault/Log_Files/cv.token
If you are creating a custom provisioning process for database refresh, configure a scheduled agent backup.
You can use a traditional or IntelliSnap backup.
SAP HANA:
To use a traditional backup, see Performing a SAP HANA Full Backup.
To use an IntelliSnap backup, see Performing a SAP HANA IntelliSnap Full Backup.
SAP on Oracle:

Step 6: Integrating SAP LaMa with Commvault
Register the script (cvprovision.sh) with SAP LaMa. For more information, see Creating Provider Definitions for SAP LaMa Database Operations.
Create a custom operation or custom provisioning process for the registered script. For more information, see one of the following:
For database backup, see Creating a Custom Operation for Database Backup.
For database refresh, see Creating a Custom Provisioning Process for Database Refresh if it is not SAP HANA V2/MDC.
For database refresh, see Creating a Custom Provisioning Process for Database Refresh (HANA V2/MDC) if it is SAP HANA V2/MDC.
Best Practice: Set up the configuration so SAP LaMa job status notifications are sent. For more information, see the SAP help article, Enabling E-Mail Notifications for Activities.
Step 7: Perform a SAP LaMa Database Backup
If you created a custom operation for the database backup, run a database backup operation from the SAP LaMa console. For more information, see Performing a SAP LaMa Database Backup.
Step 8: Perform a SAP LaMa Database Refresh
If you provisioned the database refresh operation, database administrators should run a database refresh operation from the SAP LaMa console to verify the configuration. For more information, see Performing a SAP LaMa Database Refresh.
