To manage a database, you can either use an existing instance or add a new instance.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The database Overview page appears.

Go to the Instances tab.

Click Add instance, and then select Cloud database service from the list.
The Add Cloud DB Instance page appears.

Select Alibaba Cloud as vendor, and then click Next.

For Database service, select MySQL.

In the Plan section, select a server plan to use for the instance, and then click Next.
The Cloud Account page appears.

From the Cloud Account list, select the cloud account that you want to use for the instance, and then click Next.
The Cloud database instance details page appears.

From the Instance name list, select an instance.

Under the Connection details section, in the Database user box, type the user name to access the ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL application.

If you are not using the AD authentication, in the Password box, type the password to access the ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL application.

In the Endpoint box, type the name of the endpoint to connect to the database instance.

If SSL is enabled on the cloud, move the Use SSL options toggle key to the right, and then in the SSL CA file box, enter the SSL CA file path in the proxy computer.
Note
For a Windows client computer, if the instance creation with SSL certificate fails, you can select only the Use SSL options check box, and leave the SSL CA file box blank. For more information, go to "Connecting to server using the MySQL CLI over SSL" on the Microsoft documentation website.

Click Next.

The Backup Content page appears which provides the information about the backup of the databases in the instance.

Click Next.
The Summary page appears.

Review the summary, and then click Finish.
Results
- The new instance contains a default database group. The default database group includes all the data in the Alibaba Cloud ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL database. You cannot delete the default database group.
