Adding Oracle RAC Nodes

You can add Oracle RAC nodes to the Oracle RAC database.

Before You Begin

Review the Oracle user account information. For more information, see Oracle User Accounts.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Instances page appears.

2. Click Add instance > Oracle RAC.

   The New Oracle RAC database dialog box appears.

3. Click Add RAC instance.

   The Add RAC instance dialog box appears.

4. From the Server name list, select the server where the Oracle RAC database resides.

5. In the Oracle SID box, enter the database name.

6. In the Oracle home box, enter the path where the Oracle application resides.

7. In the Connect string box, type the Oracle connect string.

   The connect string can be authenticated from Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and LDAP servers.

8. To modify the operating system user name, expand Other settings, and then in the OS user name box type the new user.

9. By default, the TNS_Admin directory is created in the Oracle HOME\network\admin path. To modify the path, in the TNS_ADMIN folder box, enter the full path to the location of the tnsnames.ora file.

10. Click OK.
