Configuring Cross-Region and Cross-Cloud Copies in Air Gap Protect

Updated

You can create cross-region and cross-cloud copies using Air Gap Protect in the following scenarios:

  • To recover data in case of a region failure, create copies across multiple Azure regions by creating a primary copy using Air Gap Protect Azure Hot storage in region A and secondary copy using Air Gap Protect Azure Cool storage in region B.

  • For mission critical workloads that require high level of resiliency to tolerate a cloud failure, create a primary copy using Air Gap Protect Azure Hot storage and secondary copy using Air Gap Protect OCI infrequent access storage.

Before You Begin

Review the following requirements:

  • The source copy must reside in the Air Gap Protect Azure Hot storage.

  • Make sure that you provision a MediaAgent in the same region as the Air Gap Protect Azure Hot cloud storage.

Procedure

  1. To enable cross-region and cross-cloud copies, contact Commvault support.
  2. Create Air Gap Protect Azure Hot cloud storage using a MediaAgent in the the same Azure region. For more information, see Configuring Air Gap Protect.
