Creating a Schedule to Download Software

You can use the Command Center to create a schedule to download Commvault feature release and maintenance release installation files to the CommServe server and remote caches.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System > Maintenance.

    The Maintenance page appears.

  2. Click Download/copy software.

    The Download/copy software section appears, showing the current feature release, the latest available feature release, and the last job that was run.

  3. Click Schedule Job Download Software (2).

    The Download/copy software dialog box appears.

  4. In Download installation media, select the available feature release or maintenance release installation files you want to download.

  5. In Schedule settings, move the schedule Download Software (1) toggle key to the right.

    The Edit schedule dialog box appears.

  6. Edit the repeatable schedule as follows:

    1. In the Name field, enter a name for the schedule.

    2. In the Frequency field, select a recurrence pattern for the software downloads. Depending on your selection, more options will appear, as follows:

      • One time. Select this recurrence pattern to open a calendar, which allows you to select a date and time for a one-time software download.

      • Automatic. Select this recurrence pattern to open options that restrict software downloads depending on job intervals, network types, computer power options, resource utilization, and file management options.

      • Daily. Select this recurrence pattern to set a repeatable daily software download schedule.

      • Weekly. Select this recurrence pattern to set a repeatable weekly software download schedule.

      • Monthly. Select this recurrence pattern to set a repeatable monthly software download schedule.

      • Continuous. Select this recurrence pattern to set the interval pattern (in minutes) between software downloads.

    3. Click Save.

    The Download/copy software dialog box appears.

  7. In Operating system options, select the platform and operating system for the software you want to download.

  8. In Remote caches to sync, select the remote caches where you want to copy the downloaded packages to (in addition to downloading to the CommServe server).

  9. Click Save.

    The system will download the software according to the schedule you just created.
