Updated

Use this tab to select the options to be included in the report. For a scheduled job summary report, you can use this tab to modify filter options that have already been selected, or to select additional filter options.

Not all options apply to all operation types.

  • Throughput Unit: Allows you to select the throughput (the transferred rate) to be displayed in the report as either GB/Hour or MB/Second.

  • Size Unit: Allows you to define the report's data size unit in either GB or MB.

Selecting a data size unit is strongly recommended. If the size unit is not selected; for the HTML output format, the data sizes will be displayed in mixed sizes and for the Text output format, the data sizes will be displayed in bytes.

When the Protected Objects option is checked on the Selection tab, then all the data sizes in the report, including the protected objects, will be displayed in the same data size unit as specified on the Options tab.

  • Show most frequent errors: Allows you to select the number of most frequent errors that will appear in the report. For example, if you enter 5, then the top 5 most frequent errors will appear in the report.

  • Job Time: Allows you to generate Job Summary reports where the data reflects either the CommServe time zone or the time zone of each Client in the CommCell. The Administrative Job Summary reports will only display the CommServe time zone.

  • Data Size: Allows you to select the data size of the data protection job to display in the report.

    • Increase In Data Size By: Select if data protection job is at least n% larger in data size than the previous data protection job of the same type (full, incremental, differential, or synthetic full). Default is set at 10%.

    • Decrease In Data Size By: Select if data protection job is at least n% smaller in data size than the previous data protection job of the same type (full, incremental, differential, or synthetic full). Default is set at 10%.

  • Jobs Retained By: Allows you to display jobs based on data aging retention rules.  Choose one or more among the following:

    • All: Select to display all jobs that follow all types of retention rules.

    • Basic Retention: Select to display jobs that follow basic retention rules.  Basic retention rules are defined by retention time and retention cycles. These parameters determine how much data is retained and for how long. Most agents follow basic retention rules.

    • Extended Retention: Select to display jobs that follow extended retention rules. Extended retention rules are defined in terms of weeks, months, and years. This enables you to retain data for a much longer period of time than with Basic Retention Rules.

    • Manual Retention: Select to display jobs that follow manual retention rules.

  • Save As: To save the selected options as a report template or as a script file, click this button. When you save the operation as a script, each option in the dialog will have a corresponding xml parameter in the script file. When executing the script, you can modify the value for any of these XML parameters as needed.
