Options on the Selection Tab for the Job Summary Reports in the Report Selection Dialog Box

Use this tab to select additional filter options for the report.  Not all options apply to all job types. Entire sections or just some options within sections vary according to the job type that you select on the General tab.

For a job summary report that is scheduled, you can use this tab to modify filter options that have already been selected, or to select additional filter options.

  • Diagnostic: To include information about job errors in the report, select any of the available options.

    • Failure Reason: Includes a description of the failure reason, such as the reason an operation went into a waiting or pending state, or failed. Reasons might include media reservation issues, application-specific errors, library drive issues, network issues, and/or job manager issues.

    • Job Attempts: Includes job attempt information in the report (for data management operations only).

    • Associated Events: Includes all the events associated with each operation in the report.

  • Contents: To include information about the data included in jobs, select any of the available options.

    • Subclient Content: Includes the subclient content that is being protected.

    • Subclient Filters: Includes any filters and filter exceptions that were used during the data management operation.

    • Protected Databases: Includes information about Exchange databases that were included in each backup job that appears in the report. Also includes a Protected Databases table that provides information for the each backup job on each Exchange database. Information for Exchange 2007 databases is not included.

    • Applications and Volumes: Visible only for Continuous Data Replicator (CDR), shows the applications and volumes included in Recovery Points.

    • Failed Objects: Includes the objects that have failed to be protected, recovered, or retrieved in the report.

      For Windows and UNIX File System agents, only files are counted as objects. Folders and directories are not counted as objects.

      For Oracle, this includes output from Oracle's Recovery Manager (RMAN).

      • Limit Number of Objects To: Becomes available when you select Failed Objects. Specifies the maximum number of failed objects that appear in the report. The maximum number of objects that can appear in the report is 10,000.

    • Protected Objects: Includes the objects that have been backed up in the report. If you do not want to include a list of protected objects, then clear this check box.

       For Windows and UNIX File System agents, only files are counted as objects. Folders and directories are not counted as objects.

      • Limit Number of Objects To: Becomes available when you select Protected Objects. Specifies the maximum number of protected objects that appear in the report. The maximum number of objects that can appear in the report is 10,000.

    • Erased Stubs: Visible only for Erase Backup/Archived Data, includes a list of all stubs that were erased during the specified time period.

  • Storage: To include information about storage settings, location, and media, select any of the available options.

    • Associated Media: Includes the media used for each operation in the report.

    • Drive: Includes the drive information related to the job in the report.

    • Storage Policy: Includes the storage policies associated with the subclients that were protected in the report.

    • MediaAgents: The MediaAgents that are associated with the job in the report.

  • Job Information: To include information about settings and users related to jobs, select any of the available options.

    • Job Options: Includes the options that were selected for each operation in the report.

    • Description: Displays the job description assigned by the user while initiating, scheduling and running a job.

    • Initiating User: Includes the CommCell user that initiated the operation in the report.

    • Include Client Description: Includes additional information about each client in the report.

  • Advanced: To include additional information about jobs, such as hidden subclients, aged data, and media-deleted jobs, select any of the available options.

    • Aged Data: Includes data that have been pruned in the report.

    • Include Media Deleted Jobs: Includes jobs that have been deleted, have not yet been aged, and also cannot be restored in the report.

    • Include Backup Files Only: Becomes available when you select Job ID and enter a job ID on the General tab. When Include Backup Files Only is selected, the report output is a list of files that were backed up in the specified job. The file list is not available for system state backups.

    • Include Protected VMs: When selected, displays virtual machines that were included in the job.

    • Include Clients with Disabled Activity: When selected, displays information for clients that were disabled during the specified time range.

    • For each subclient show only: To include information about scheduled and future jobs for subclients, select any of the available options.

      • Coverage: Includes all jobs run after a successful operation for each subclient. Jobs that failed prior to the successful operation are not included.

      • Latest Trend (last job): Includes the last job for each subclient.

    • Allow Dynamic Content: Collapses content in the report output and provides a link that expands the content.

    • Include Reference Copy Job Details: When selected, displays detailed information for each reference copy job.

    • Include Deconfigured Clients: When selected, displays information for deconfigured clients in the Details table.

    • Include Archived PSTs: When selected, displays information for backup jobs that ran on subclients configured to archive Personal Storage Table (.pst) files.

    • Ignore Hidden Subclients: To exclude subclients that are hidden from backup operations, select this option.

    • Include Jobs With Failed Items Only: When selected, includes only jobs that contain items that failed to back up.

      • Jobs With Failed Items More than: To include only jobs that contain more than the number of failed items that you specify. For example, if you enter 3, only jobs with more than 3 failed items appear in the report.

  • Snap and Backup Copy Options: To include information about settings for IntelliSnap and backup copy jobs, select any of the available options.

    • Include Backup Copy/Catalog Snapshot Jobs: Includes backup copy jobs and catalog snapshot jobs in the report.

    • Include Snap Backup Jobs Only: Includes only IntelliSnap backup jobs in the report.

    • Include Backup Copy/Catalog Snapshot Jobs only: To include only backup copy and catalog snapshot jobs in the report, select this option.

  • Replication Statistics: Visible only for Continuous Data Replicator (CDR), to include information about CDR jobs such as failed jobs and items, select any of the available options.

    • Failed Objects: Includes the Continuous Data Replicator objects that have failed to be transferred, completed, or written during replication attempts.

    • Attempts: Includes the number of attempts at replication the Continuous Data Replicator has made for the replication pair for the selected computers.

  • Data Verification

    • Ignore files if modified time less than (Hours): Allows you to exclude files from the report based on modified time in hours.

  • Save As: To save the selected options as a report template or as a script file, click this button. When you save the operation as a script, each option in the dialog will have a corresponding xml parameter in the script file. When executing the script, you can modify the value for any of these XML parameters as needed.
