Backup Options for Subclient

Updated

Use this dialog box to either run a backup job immediately or schedule it to run later.

Select Backup Type

  • Full

Select to run a full backup job. A full backup job backs up all data for the selected subclient.

  • Incremental

Select to run an incremental backup job. An incremental backup job backs up either new data or data that has changed since the last backup.

  • Synthetic Full

Select to run a synthetic full backup job. A synthetic full backup job consolidates data from the latest full backup or from the synthetic full backup together with any subsequent incremental backups into one archive file, instead of reading and backing up data directly from the client computer.

  • Run Incremental Backup

Select to run an Incremental backup job either immediately before a synthetic full backup or immediately after a successful synthetic full backup.

    • Before Synthetic Full: Select to run an incremental backup job immediately before a synthetic full backup. This ensures that any new or recently changed data is included in the synthetic full backup.

    • After Synthetic Full: Select to run an incremental backup job immediately after a successful synthetic full backup. This ensures that any new or recently changed data since the backup that occurred prior to the synthetic full, but was not included in the synthetic full, is backed up by the incremental.

Job Initiation

  • Immediate

Select to run a backup job immediately.

  • Schedule

Select to schedule a backup job. Click Configure to set a backup schedule job.

Save As Script

Click to open the Save As Script dialog, which allows you to save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can later be executed from the Command Line Interface using qoperation execute command.

When you save an operation as a script, each option in the dialog will have a corresponding XML parameter in the script file. When executing the script, you can modify the value for any of these XML parameters.
