Configuring an ObjectStore

ObjectStore is a data storage repository used for storing and retrieving your application data.

Before You Begin

Verify the ports used by the Commvaultsoftware and third-party applications. For more information, see Required Ports.

Procedure

1. Install the following components:

   • On the same client, install the following packages:

     • Install the Web Server.

       Note

       The Web Server must have at least 3 TB of disk space allocated for the Restore Cache Directory.

     • Install the Index Store Package.

   • Installing the Web Console.

2. If there is a firewall between the Web Server and the clients, configure the firewall so there is connectivity between the Web Server and the clients. See Configuring Network Routes.

3. Configure the Index Server entity in the CommCell Console.

   The Index Server is required to view the data in the ObjectStore. Configure at least one Edge Drive Index Server in your CommCell environment.

4. Create and configure an ObjectStore client.

   The ObjectStore client defines the Analytics Engine and storage policy to be used for the ObjectStore. You will also assign CommCell users with permissions to access the ObjectStore.
