Enable Multi-Instance Installation on the Existing CommServe-MediaAgent Computer

Applies to: CommServe server in a Windows environment

You can install multiple instances of the Commvault software on a computer. To do this, you must enable multi-instance installation on the existing CommServe-MediaAgent computer.

Note

The following procedure does not apply to Linux computers as Linux supports installation of multiple instances of software, by default.

Procedure

  1. Open the Windows Registry Editor, and go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ directory.

  2. Right-click SOFTWARE, and then click New > Key.

  3. Name the new key as GalaxyInstallerFlags.

  4. Right-click GalaxyInstallerFlags, and then click New > DWORD.

  5. Name the new value as bAllowMultiInstances.

  6. Double-click bAllowMultiInstances, set the Value data to 1, and then click OK.

  7. Close the Registry Editor.
