Enabling the Explorer Plug-In on Your Laptop

You can enable the Explorer Plug-In so that you can lock and unlock files on your DLP-enabled laptop.

Before You Begin

Your administrator must enable DLP for your laptop. For more information, see Enabling Data Loss Prevention for all Users in a Plan.

Procedure

  1. Open Edge Monitor.

    The Edge Monitor dialog box appears.

  2. Enable the Explorer Plug-In on your laptop by moving the Explorer Plugin toggle key to the right.

  3. Recommended: Create a DLP passkey for locked files on your laptop. This will allow you to unlock files if you are not connected to the Commvault environment. If you do not create a DLP passkey, then you will only be able to unlock files if you are connected to the Commvault environment.
