Installing Commvault on Clients in a Cluster Environment

Updated

You must install relevant commvault agent software all of the physical nodes that you want to protect in your cluster environment.

Important

To use cluster failover features effectively, all physical nodes must be at the same Commvault feature release.

Choose the Installation Method

The most commonly used methods to install Commvault are the following:

  • Remote installations, in which you use the CommCell Console to install the software remotely on one or more physical nodes.

For more information, see Installing Commvault Remotely Using the CommCell Console.

  • Local installations, in which you use the installation package to install the software locally on one or more physical nodes.

Based on the computer's operating system, see installing Commvault locally on Windows or UNIX.

    Note

Note: You must install the same version and feature release on all physical nodes.

What to Do Next

After installing the software successfully on all the physical nodes that host the cluster group, you must configure the cluster group client from the CommCell Console. For more information, see Cluster Group Clients.
