The Commvault HyperScale platform alert monitors the following characteristics in the HyperScale node.
- Commvault File System (CVFS) services health. If the hedvighblock, hedvigpages, hedvighpod, or hedvigfsc services go down, the platform alerts are generated to notify the Commcell administrator. The CVFS services health is monitored on CVFS versions 4.7.7 or higher.
-
Commit log partition (/hedvig/d2) consumption and alerts when the consumption goes beyond a configurable high watermark. The default watermark is 95%.
-
System mount points consumption and alerts when the consumption goes beyond a configurable high watermark for the following mount points:
/, /opt, /var, /var/log and /boot
The default watermark is 85%.
-
Data drives consumption and alerts when the consumption goes beyond a configurable high watermark. The default watermark is 85%.
-
CVFS metadata mount points consumption and alerts when the consumption goes beyond a watermark for the following mount points: /mnt/d3, /mnt/d4, and /mnt/d5. The default watermark is 70%.
-
Monitor and alert when Ransomware protection is disabled on the HyperScale nodes.
-
Network packet drops/errors are detected for any of the configured network interfaces.
On new installations with Commvault Platform Release 2023E, the alert is enabled by default for all HyperScale nodes.
On existing installations, after you upgrade to Commvault Platform Release 2023E version, you must first disable the Scale out disk health alert, and then enable the new HyperScale platform alert.

Enabling Enhanced CVFS Monitoring
You can configure the CommCell environment to monitor the following operations on the HyperScale X cluster:
- CVFS data distribution - the default threshold for pending data redistributionn is 90 days.
- Data rebuilds - the default threshold for pending data rebuilds is 60 days.
- Replication storage utilization - the default threshold value for replication storage is 10% of the storage pool capacity.
Alerts are sent when the pending data redistribution, data rebuilds, or replication storage capacity exceeds the threshold value. You will also receive alerts when the storage pool capacity utilization exceeds 70%.
To allow enhanced monitoring, set the Enable alert for HyperScale X CVFS operations setting in the Command Center. For more information, see Adding a CommCell Setting.
