You can open remote log files in GxTail, or download them to a local computer. This allows you to view or download logs of a remote computer (Windows or UNIX) from a Windows computer that has GxTail installed on it.
Before You Begin
Add the nEnableRemoteFileReader additional setting or the sAllowedRemoteLogFileReaders additional setting to the remote computer.

Procedure

Click File > Open Remote Log File.
The Connect to Remote Machine dialog box appears.

Enter the client name, client hostname, and CVD port of the remote computer, and then click Connect.
The Select Remote File dialog box appears.

Select the log files, and then do one of the following:

To open the file in GxTail, click Open.

To download the log files, enter or browse a local download computer location, and then click Download or Download All.
The Download Complete dialog box appears when downloads are complete.
