Performing Exclusive Backups

Use this option to prevent simultaneous execution of multiple backup operations or restore operations on the same volume. Running a backup operation during restore processing or running a restore operation during backup processing can lead to possible data inconsistencies.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to client > NDMP > defaultBackupSet.

2. In the right pane, right-click the subclient, and then click Backup.

   The Backup Options dialog box appears.

3. On the Backup Options tab, click Advanced.

   The Advanced Backup Options dialog box appears.

4. On NAS Options tab, select the Exclusive backup check box, and then click OK.

5. Select the backup type and schedule.

6. Click OK.
