Recovering DR Backups After a Ransomware Attack

Updated

If ransomware protection is enabled for the DR backup folder path (export location) and if the CommServe receives a ransomware attack, you can recover the DR backups from the export location and rebuild the CommServe.

If the export path is not available for recovery, you can recover the DR backup from the backup media, and then rebuild the CommServe.

For more information about rebuilding the CommServe, see CommServe Recovery Using DR Backups.

If you rebuild the CommServe on a Linux computer, enable ransomware protection for the DR backup folder. For more information, see Ransomware Protection for DR Backup Folder on Linux.

On a Windows CommServe, ransomware protection is enabled by default for the DR backup folder.
