Restoring Lync Server Data and Settings Using the Windows File System Agent

Updated

You can restore Lync Server data and settings due to corruption, failure, or disaster. You cannot use the Restore by Jobs feature to restore Lync Server backup jobs. You must perform the browse and restore operation to restore the Lync server data.

Before You Begin

  1. Make sure that you add Lync as your subclient content when you created your subclient. For more information on adding adding content to your subclient, see Creating a User-Defined Subclient for the Windows File System Agent.

  2. Perform a backup of the subclient. For more information, see Performing Backups for Windows File System Subclients.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > client > File System > backup_set.

  2. Right-click the subclient in the right pane and then click Browse and Restore.

  3. In the Browse and Restore dialog box, click View Content.

  4. In the right pane of the Client Browse window, expand the backup_set > subclient > [OCS] | [Lync] folder.

  5. Select the required data and settings to be restored and click Recover all Selected.

  6. In the Restore Option dialog box, click OK.

By default the selected data or setting will be restored to the source location.

Important: If you perform an out-of-place restore of the settings, the settings will be restored as files.

  7. Click OK.
