Use this tab to add, modify or view the contents of a selected subclient.

Contents of subclient

Only Backup files created or modified on and after

Click to select the options for backing up files created or modified after a specific date. This option is displayed in the dialog box only when the bAllowBackupFilesCreatedOrModifiedOnAfter additional setting is configured on the CommServe.

  • Time Zone

Specifies the time zone from which you are filtering data for backup.

  • Date

Specifies the date after which the data modified or created has to be backed up.

Backup System State

Select the option to back up the system state with this subclient.

By default, System State data is backed up along with file system data by the default subclient during a Full backup. However, if you change the content of the default subclient, system state will not be backed up when a subsequent backup is performed. A message appears that says the Backup system state option will be disabled. To continue, click Yes.

Note: Backing up the system state is essential for full system recovery, so consider your disaster recovery planning when you exclude the System State from the default subclient content.

Follow Mount Points

Indicates whether the data in the mount point is backed up. This option does not apply to block level backups.

Starting Commvault Platform Release 2023E (11.32), the Follow Mount Points field is moved to the subclient Content section. Prior to the release, the Follow Mount Points field was available in the Advanced Backup Options and at the schedule policy level. For subclients upgraded to Commvault Platform Release 2023E, the Follow Mount Points field provides following options:

  • ON: Select this option to back up data in the mount point. This is the default value for new clients or subclients.

  • OFF: Select this option to exclude data in the mount point during backup.

  • Inherit from Schedule: This option is available only for subclients upgraded to Commvault Platform Release 2023E. The following behavior applies:

    • If a backup is triggered from a schedule, the mount point data is backed up based on the schedule policy configuration.

    • For manual backups, the mount point data is backed up irrespective of the schedule policy configuration.

Note: To change the behavior of the Follow Mount Point for upgraded clients, navigate to the subclient Content page and select ON or OFF. Once you select either of the new options, the Inherit from Schedule option is not available.

Backup Office Communication Server

  • Edit

Click to enter/modify the User Name and Password required to access the Office Communications Server.
