Undoing a Failover

For virtual machines that have failed over to a secondary site, you can undo the failover from the Live Sync Monitor tab. Undoing a failover discards any changes from the secondary site and reverts to the primary site.

Before You Begin

To perform failover operations for virtual machines, you must meet the following requirements:

  • The workflow engine must be installed with the CommServe system.

  • The virtual machines that you include in an undo failover operation must have a status of Failover Complete or Failback Failed.

Procedure

  1. Open the Live Sync Monitor tab from the backup set or from the subclient:

    • From the backup set, right-click the backup set, and then select All Tasks > Live Sync > Monitor.

    • From the subclient, right-click the subclient, and then select Live Sync > Monitor.

  2. On the Live Sync Monitor tab, select the rows for one or more virtual machines, right-click, point to Failover, and then select Undo Failover.

  3. Confirm that changes on the secondary site will be discarded to run the undo failover operation.
