Add an Access Node for Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB

You can add a Windows or Linux file server, and install the Virtual Server and Cloud Apps packages.

Note

When an Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB account is configured with access from only one selected network, make sure the access node is in the same network.

Before You Begin

You need the following information:

  • Host name

  • User name and password

  • OS type

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

    The Servers page appears.

  2. In the upper-right area of the page, click Add server.

    The Add Server dialog box appears.

  3. Select one of the following installation methods:

    • To install software on the computer, click Install software packages on your computer, and then enter the following information:

      1. In the Host name box, type the host name.

      2. For the OS Type, click the operating system that is installed on the server.

      3. Specify the server credentials:

        • To use saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle to the right, then select a credential.

        • If you are not using saved credentials, enter the User name and Password to be used.

      4. From the Select packages list, select Virtual Server and Cloud Apps, and then click OK.

      5. To specify the installation location, in the Installation location box, enter the path.

      6. To reboot the servers in the server group after the installation, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.

    • To complete an installation when the software is already installed on the server, click Complete the installation if the software packages are already installed on your computer, and then enter the following information:

      1. In the Host name box, enter the host name.

      2. To assign a specific name to the server, in the Server name box, enter the name.

  4. Click INSTALL.
