You can add a new database server so that you can protect DB2 databases.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The database Overview page appears.

Click Add server from the upper-right corner of page.
The Configure Database Server page appears.

In the Add Database Server section, do the following:

Install the DB2 database server Agent using the following installation methods:
-
Interactive installation
-
Push installation
-
-
Select Interactive installation to install software interactively on the DB2 database server to be protected and then complete the following:
-
Download and install the DB2 database server package on the DB2 database server to be protected.

Install the DB2 database server package on the server you want to back up and authenticate using the authcode.
-
Return to this window after the agent installation has completed.
-
From the Server name list, select the newly installed servers after completing the agent installations.

Select Push installation to install client software on the DB2 database server and then complete the following:

Click Add.
The Add database server dialog box appears.

In the Host name box, enter the host name of the database.
-
Select a OS type from the following options:
-
Unix
-
Windows
Note
Unix is selected by default.

From the Software cache list, select a software cache to push agent packages, and update them to the clients. It works as a network gateway between server and client.

Move the Use saved credentials toggle key to right.
-
From Credential list, you can select a saved credential or add a new credential.
Steps to add a credential

Click +.
The Add Credential dialog box appears.
-
In the Account type box, the Linux account is selected by default.
-
From the Credential Vault list, select a credential vault to store, share, and update account credentials with shared resources in your environment.

In the Credential name box, enter a unique name to access the credential.
-
In the User account box, enter the user account that has access to the DB2 server.
-
In the Password/Passphrase box, enter the password for the user account.
-
In the Description box, enter a brief description for the credential.
-
Click Save.

If you do not move Use saved credentials toggle key to right, enter the following details:
-
In the User name and Password boxes, enter the credentials to connect to the server.

For a Windows server, enter the username as domain_nameusername.
-

In the SSH port number box, enter the port number.

Optional: To use a SSH key, do the following:
-
Move the Use SSH key toggle key to the right.
-
In the SSH key path box, enter the path for the SSH key. Alternately, you can click SELECT FILE button to define a path.

In the UNIX group box, enter the name of the group to grant write access to a UNIX group.
-
In the DB2 Log path box, enter a DB2 log file storage path.
-
In the Installation location box, enter the installation path of the server.

You can configure the following option during installation by moving the corresponding toggle keys:

Install MediaAgent
-
Restore only agent
-
Reboot if required
-
-
Click Install.

From the Server name list, select the newly installed servers for those the jobs are completed.
-

Click Next.
-

Select an existing backup plan or create a backup plan for DB2. For more information about backup plan backup plan creation, refer to create backup plan.
The backup plan defines how often the software backs up the database and the log files, and where it stores the backups.
If you already have a backup plan that can be used, you can skip this step.

Click Next.
The Summary page appears.
-
Review the summary and click Finish to add the DB2 database server.
Result
The DB2 database server instances are automatically discovered and configured with the selected backup plan.
