Adding a Hadoop Cluster

You can add a Hadoop cluster.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Big Data.

    The Big data page appears.

  2. Click Add cluster.

    The Configure Big Data App page appears.

  3. Select Hadoop, and then click Next.

    The Configure Hadoop Cluster page appears.

  4. Select an existing backup plan or create a new backup plan.

  5. Click Next.

    The Add Hadoop Cluster page appears.

  6. In Name, enter the name for the cluster.

  7. From the Access nodes list, select the server or servers that you want to be data access nodes for Hadoop. You can also add a new access node. To add a new access node, complete the following:

    1. Click the + icon.

      The Perform remote install on node dialog box appears.

    2. Select one of the following installation methods:

      • To install software on the computer, click Install software packages on your computer, and then enter the following information:

        1. In the Host name box, type the host name.

        2. Specify the server credentials:

          • To use saved credentials, move the Use saved credentials toggle to the right, then select a credential.

          • If you are not using saved credentials, enter the User name and Password to be used.

        3. In the SSH port number box, enter the port number.

        4. If you want to use SSH instead of user credentials, move the Use SSH key toggle to the right, and then in the SSH key path box, enter the file path.

        5. In the Installation location box, specify the installation location.

        6. To reboot the servers in the server group after the installation, move the Reboot if required toggle key to the right.

      • To complete an installation when the software is already installed on the server, click Complete the installation if the software packages are already installed on your computer, and then enter the following information:

        1. In the Host name box, enter the host name.

        2. To assign a specific name to the server, in the Server name box, enter the name.

    3. Click INSTALL.

  8. In HDFS user, enter the Hadoop user name to use for backups.

  9. Click *Next

    The Backup Content page appears.

  10. Select the indexes to be backed up, and then click Next.

  11. The Summary page appears where you can see the Hadoop cluster configuration details.

  12. Click Finish.
