Adding Oracle RAC Subclients

You can create Oracle RAC subclients that specify the data that you want to protect.

Subclient Content

The subclient content can contain any of the following data:

• Data and logs

• Data only

• Logs only

• Data subset, for example tablespaces

• Data subset and logs

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The database overview page appears.

2. On the Instances tab, click the instance.

   The instance page appears.

3. On the Subclients tab, click Add subclient.

   The Add subclient dialog box appears.

4. In the Subclient name box, type the subclient name.

5. From the Plan list, select a backup plan.

6. From the Backup mode list, select the type of backup for the subclient.

7. Depending on the backup mode you select, the following options may appear:

   • If you select Subset of online database as the backup mode, a list of databases and database components appears. Select the components to back up.

   • To support restore operations for individual tables, move the Collect table metadata toggle to the right.

   • To back up the flash recovery area, select Backup flash recovery area.

   • To skip components that are offline during a backup, select Skip offline.

   • To back up the database logs, select Archive log backup.

   • For Edit archive log options, do the following:

     • From the Archive delete options list, select Archive delete or Archive delete all.

     • To select archive log destinations for backup, move the Select archive log destinations for backup toggle to the right and select the locations.

     • To select archive log destinations for delete, move the Select archive log destinations for delete toggle to the right and select the locations.

8. Click Save.
