You can add a Splunk cluster.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Big data.
The Big data page appears.

Click Add cluster.
The Configure Big Data App page appears.

Select Splunk, and then click NEXT.
The Configure Splunk Cluster page appears.

Select an existing backup plan or add a new backup plan.

Click NEXT.
The Splunk Cluster page appears.

In the Cluster name box, enter the name of the Splunk cluster.

From the Master Node list, select a master node.

In the Master URI box, enter the master URI where the splunk service is hosted on the master node.

Enter the following credentials as per the requirement:

Enter the login credential of the user with admin permissions on the entire Splunk cluster environment.

If you do not want to configure Splunk cluster with admin user and configure it with least privileges, then complete the following steps:

You can create a new role inheriting from the default role 'user'. You need to add the following additional permissions for the created role:

edit_indexer_cluster

edit_server
-
indexes_edit

For more information about adding or editing roles, see Create and manage roles with Splunk Web.

You can create a new user using the newly created role, which can be used to configure Splunk cluster in Commvault.
Note
The same user should be created with the same role in all the nodes of the Splunk cluster.
Note
Ensure that you use only one user to perform all the operations on the Splunk environment.

Click NEXT.
The Nodes page appears.

Select the peer nodes of the Splunk cluster from the Splunk Nodes dropdown, and click NEXT.
The Backup Content page appears.

Select the indexes to be backed up, and click NEXT.
The Summary page appears, where you see the Splunk Cluster configuration details.

Click FINISH.
