Automatically Create Users When AD or SAML SSO Login is Enabled On Service CommCells

When you log on to the Global CommCell, you can seamlessly switch to a service CommCell by selecting the service CommCell from the list that appears at the upper-right corner of the Global Command Center. However, when AD or SAML authentication is enabled on the service CommCell, the Commvault software does not automatically authenticate the Global CommCell.

To enable seamless access and user provisioning across CommCells, you can add the Enable Automatic User Creation in Service CommCells setting to automatically create user accounts on the service CommCell when users switch from the Global CommCell. This applies to environments using the SAML-based identity providers (such as Microsoft Entra ID) and AD-based authentication.

Once the Enable Automatic User Creation in Service CommCells setting is enabled, user accounts will be automatically created on the service CommCell (if they don’t already exist) and will inherit group memberships configured in the Global CommCell. This simplifies user management and access control across distributed environments.
