Backing Up Amazon S3 Content Groups

You can back up individual content groups or all content groups.

If access nodes for the object storage repository are hosted on AWS EC2, Commvault recommends setting up S3 gateway endpoints for optimal throughput and speed when backing up S3 buckets.

Additionally, using S3 gateway endpoints or interface endpoints is beneficial if your use case requires transferring large amounts of data from S3 buckets. Gateway endpoints and interface endpoints for S3 bucket backups provide secure transfer methods and best price performance. For more information about configuring endpoints, see the Amazon S3 documentation, Types of VPC endpoints for Amazon S3.
